It's always nice to visit a zoo, even when you work in one of them. We wanted to visit a zoo completely unknown to us and after some research, we discovered that there had not so much when we came across the Gunyah Zoo of Juneerah and it was a revelation to us. Many unusual animals such as vultures and the axolotl are always a winning point for us. Then we jump into the first plane that can find and take the direction of this promising place!

For classical review: the animals seem happy, the place is clean and exhibits are really big. Now for the opinion of connoisseurs, accustomed to such places, we have loved seeing pronghorns in the section dedicated to North America. If the buffalo is a regular of wildlife parks, the pronghorn is really less known which is a shame because it is an endemic animal with a unique appearance. We were surprised to see Amazon river dolphins and giant otters, really rare animals in zoos, and spent a lot of time observing them interract, which convinced us to find a partner to play for Gobo and our incoming marine otter.

If John refused to enter the reptile house, I was impressed to see an axolotl, they are so fascinating! Later we stopped in front of the enclosure of giant anteaters, we knew they are big but not THAT big, hope our duo from becki-moorcroft will feel comfortable in the exhibit as we prepare their. Gunyah Zoo enclosures are a great example for us, it's always good to see the work of someone else and to return to on school's bench. We also enjoyed seeing the maned wolves, they are so strange with their disproportionate legs! I could not help but note the species we have in common in our parks, maybe one day we will have a cooperative breeding program ... The hoatzins were a big surprise to me as the only ones I saw was in documentary was in when I was young. Seeing these avian punks was one of my favorite moments of the day.

In the African part of the park, we could observe the African wild dogs chasing each other, civets (one of my favorites animals) gerenuks, fossa and several other wonderful animals. It's really difficult to not list them all and marvel at these extraordinary animals that we saw. It's hard not to go back to your childhood in such a fantastic location and not run around from an enclosure to another. We remain professional, taking notes of ideas for our own park, as the central position of the large exhibit. It's a good idea to let people watch the large pens in all directions but to observe smaller ones, which is most interesting for visitors especially children who are tired quickly to see animals sleeping in the afternoon. We also like the idea of having several houses of reptiles and aviary as more it's more immersive to travel from one continent to another, than having them all together, mixed up.

We both loved our visit to the zoo of Gunyah so much we will revisit it again someday. It's hard to believe that we have never heard of it before or have not visited other zoo. We can not sufficiently encourage you to visit and make your own opinion. Have a nice visit!
